Ray's Review of the Fanatic When Mark Reed, President of Prism kites, and I were talking over plans to try and achieve a new record at the 2000 Washington State International Kite Festival, it was hard for me to decide what kite of his to use. I have flown most of the Prism range of kites but up until now not the Fanatic. Mark gave me 3 to try, I gave them a good test and liked the way they handled right off the bat, they tracked great, cornered sharp and clean, 1-2-3 landings and take-offs were a breeze, and it stayed cool in the hover stage. I had no problem going in and out of multiple raps, a little trouble with refueling the third kite, but this was easily solved in tuning. I decided that this was the kite I would attempt a new record with. In my last record with stacks, I used 3 stacks of 4, a total of 12 sport kites. This time I would go for 3 stacks of 7, a total of 21 kites! You can read all about the record in my Records section as well as see some great photos. I must mention that the Fanatic is not only a great affordable single sport kite to fly but also a great kite for the flyers that would like to get involved in stacking, a 3 or 4 stack would take you in to another dimension in kite flying and bring you a lot of pleasure. www.prismkites.com |
